Patty Schmidt

A recent transplant to Atlanta from Northern California, Patty brings with her a yoga therapeutic approach to all her classes, whether it’s a strong Infinity Flow or the deep, long holds of Restorative, and Yin Yoga: her classes and approach meet you just where you are, and you’re likely to get a good dose of biomechanics along the way. Thoughtful sequencing and carefully designed practices encourage the body/mind to open and receive that day’s practice. Patty’s classes cultivate loving-kindness, and there’s good music, too.

Patty is both 200 and 500hr YA-Certified, and is an IAYT Level 1 certified yoga therapist. She holds additional qualifications in Yin Yoga, Yoga for Pelvic Health, and Yoga for Cancer Survivors. She trains other yoga teachers, and health and fitness professionals to orient themselves to the pelvis in space, and raises awareness of pelvic health and wellness in public speaking and educational events.

“[Let] go of your attachments: your attachment to being right, to having total control, or to living forever. This process of letting go is integral to the process of becoming whole.”
― Judith Hanson Lasater

Patty Schmidt instructs the following:
  • Restorative Yoga
  • Restorative Yoga is a slow all-levels class designed to balance an active practice or decompress after a stressful day. Using props, postures are held for a longer period of time to initiate a deep relaxation of the body and mind. Classroom is not heated.

  • Form & Flow
  • This class aims to cultivate and hone your practice. Expect challenge, humor, growth, and grace as a lovely midday break from work.  A little bit of flow, a lot of alignment and refinement - join us! Classroom is not heated.

  • Yoga Basics
  • A slow paced class, designed as a class focused on alignment and adjustments for foundational poses.  Also perfectly aligned as the next step past "Beginners", to continue to introduce the foundational elements of yoga. Perfect for anyone looking to continue to hone their new practice (and perfectly suitable if you haven't been to our beginners class yet too!) and excellent for rehabilitation, recovery, or just not feeling up to a power flow on a given day!  All levels welcome. Classroom is not heated.
