In 2003, Bee was overweight at 205 pounds and 5’4” and at risk for Type 2 Diabetes. She decided to commit to improving her health and started walking and came upon a yoga studio and has been hooked ever since. Her life began to transform and she fell in love with both yoga and working out. She lost over 70 pounds. In 2005, she ran her first race on her birthday that was the Peachtree Road Race. That same year she tore her ACL, MCL and meniscus in a boot camp class and had knee surgery. Ten months post-operation she completed her first triathlon and one year to date of surgery she ran her first half marathon.
Through yoga and strength training she rehabilitated her knee completely with full range of motion. Today she is a Crossfitter, Alumni Run Ambassador for Lululemon, and a Yogini.
In 2013, she completed her 200-hour certification in Alignment-based Hatha Yoga and she has been practicing yoga for thirteen years. With the aid of Asanas, Bee hopes to help students eliminate or lessen imbalances. She teaches them correct alignment in postures to ensure maximum benefit and safety. She teaches the Yoga for Athletes class.
Bee Phillips is currently not instructing any classes.
