After a running injury, Heather stepped into her first Bikram yoga class where she instantly found inner peace and balance. Almost three years later, Heather discovered Ashtanga yoga! She connected with this very vigorous and disciplined lineage that fed the mind of a type A personality. She studied diligently for several years until a curiosity to know more about alignment and the minutiae of every pose led her to Stillwater Yoga. There, she dove into Iyengar yoga with a vengeance for 2 years. A longing for a more active practice found Heather back in the Ashtanga studio. Finally, in 2010, a connection with a creative vinyasa flow class fed the dancer in her soul and a practice that offered a balance of all disciplines. Vinyasa classes have been her primary practice since 2010 and the focus of her 200-hour certification with us here at Infinity Yoga. Mindful sequencing and an invigorating class with a solid focus on the breath are the root of what Heather aims to teach.
Heather's classes are light hearted and playful yet dynamic and challenging. Her intention is for you to feel refreshed and renewed with a smile on your face when you leave class.
Heather Correa instructs the following:
Power to the Core
This class will focus on the core strength activating the deep core line of our body and learning to keep the outer body soft and flexible. Learn to find effort in grounding down through our foundation while drawing the core in and up. This class is WARM (between 82-87.)
Powerful dynamic flowing sequences with music! Many skill levels come to this class so many options are given, however knowledge of sun salutations and solid all around fitness is recommended for this class. Be prepared to sweat and have fun! Classroom temperature is WARM (between 82-87 degrees).
If you are looking for an extra dynamic and challenging flow, please join us for Sharon Caplan's class. You will work HARD and the class temperature peaks around 90 degrees!
Start the day off right! This all-levels class is designed to wake up and energize the body. We will salute sun with a complete practice: the linking of breath and movement, forward bending and back bending, a bit of strength work, and a mild inversion. Feel the benefits of the practice tangibly in terms of energy, alertness, and increased range of motion at the beginning of the day! Classroom is not heated.
