After having a very active childhood and playing various sports, Sierra was introduced to yoga in 2009, taking a semester as a college P.E. credit. As her practice solidified and she became more invested in sacred arts (yoga, philosophy, and astrology) it was time to deepen her practice and commitment. Her first training was a 200-hour foundational teacher training through LA-based YogaWorks with Anne Van Valkenburg. Feeling empowered by her accomplishment, she continued to the next level by completing her 500-hour YogaWorks professional program, mentored by Ellie Burke in Richmond, VA. Most recently, Sierra completed a 6-month study and workshop for trauma-informed yoga called “The Goddess Within”.
Sierra’s classes are right at the intersection of physical alignment and spiritual expansion, sprinkled into powerful flows, and layered over a loving undertone. Most importantly, a sense of self-discovery is encouraged in each of her classes.
In her personal life, yoga serves as the catalyst for constant change and exploration. Yoga has provided refinement and discernment to approach every day with truth and open-heartedness.
“Life is always providing substance. It’s up to you to transform it into gold.”
Sierra Garrett is currently not instructing any classes.
