Heated Vinyasa

This class is taught by:

Jumin Chien

Ju-Min, hailing from Taiwan, began practicing yoga nineteen years ago when modern and westernized yoga had yet to truly permeate the yoga culture on the island. Therefore, her first teachers were teaching traditional style asanas infused with

Chinese medical thought and theory. Realizing that yoga created a rhythm and “breathing” that permeated her life, she began training to teach after four years of practice. After several years of training in Taiwan and India, she began to teach. She has continued training and teaching for the thirteen years and has thus has accumulated over 8500 hours of teaching experience. Her most prominent certifications include both 200-hour ERYT and 500-hour RYT Yoga Alliance certificates.

In teaching, Ju-Min emphasizes unification of mind and body, and strives to inspire the student's hearts. The fluidity of her classes allows students to move into deep breathing, thereby continuously circulating energy.

Ju-Min’s main focus is now on Iyengar yoga’s body alignment and injury prevention. Her depth of knowledge comes through in her chanting, her cues and her gentle and frequent adjustments to support each student’s body awareness.

In addition to teaching yoga, Ju-Min has been teaching Mandarin Chinese at the elementary school level since her arrival in the US Seven years ago. She enjoys working with children and has begun to find that teaching in these two diverse fields helps improve her understanding of the human being in a unique and profound way.

Maddie Lavin

Maddie is an active lifestyle enthusiast who has been hooked on fitness since doing VHS exercise tapes in the living room with her mom. In college, she took up triathlon-ing and even tackled a Half Iron Man. Looking for an outlet for her tight hamstrings (a consequence of all the running and biking) she came to yoga. She quickly learned the practice was so much more than a "stretch" or even a workout. She fell in love with her mat and all the benefits, and in 2015 decided to get her 200 hour yoga alliance certification right here in Atlanta.

With a passion for powerful vinyasa flows, creative sequencing and safe alignment, Maddie brings an exciting energy to each and every class she teaches. A proponent of finding balance on and off the mat, she looks forward to helping every student grow in their practice by using the perfect mix of sweat and savasana.

A dynamic flowing sequence of diverse poses in a room heated to 90-95 degrees. Some vinyasa experience necessary. All levels, but not recommended for brand-new beginners.
